Description
The Lungta prayer flag tradition places the wind at the centre of its practice — each flag is a physical instrument by which the wind carries blessings, mantras, and goodwill outward into the world around it. This medium-format set is sized for cars and four-wheelers, translating the mountain-pass tradition of Tibetan Buddhist communities into the rhythms of everyday travel. The Om Mani Padme Hum mantra, associated with Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, forms the complete cycle of inscription across the ten flags, so the full six-syllable prayer is present in every movement of the vehicle.
Each flag is cut from velvet cloth and screen-printed with a single syllable in bold Tibetan script, framed within a fine decorative border. The five Lungta colours follow the traditional sequence — blue for sky and space, white for air and wind, red for fire, green for water, yellow for earth — with the mantra cycling twice across the string of ten panels.
The set carries enough visual presence to read clearly through a windshield or from a rear window while maintaining a compact form. The braided cord has loops at both ends for easy mounting. Hang the cord from a rear-view mirror, dashboard hook, or across the rear parcel shelf — any position where air circulation or vehicle movement can animate the flags.
